Newport RFC are so proud

12 months ago this team had tears, upset and heads were down after playing in the Shannon Good Friday Tournament. They came 3rd on the day but they knew they had more. In the following training session they made themselves and their coaches one promise, that they would return in 12 months and win this tournament. Now fast forward 12 months and they put last years thoughts to work. The rugby they played from the start, the sense of pride they felt to know they had built up to this for the last year tells you everything about the character of this team. When the final whistle was blown they became joint winners of the tournament at u11’s age grade along with Highfield with nothing to separate these two teams. People of Newport I once again ask ye to tip your hats to this amazing bunch kids. Lads, Newport RFC are so proud of ye. Final words, 14wins, 2 draws and one loss out of 17 in six days speaks volumes about the work ye put in
